## Miteinander austauschen

Der Austausch mit anderen Menschen spielt von Geburt an eine bedeutsame Rolle. Obwohl sich Kristóf noch nicht mit Worten ausdrücken kann, findet rund um Kristófs Mahlzeit ein reger Austausch zwischen ihm und seiner Mutter statt. Immer wieder haben die beiden Blickkontakt oder lächeln sich an.

Von Anfang an verfügen Kinder über eine Grundausstattung an Wahrnehmungs- und Kommunikationsfähigkeiten. Sie drücken ihre Gefühle und Gedanken in „hundert Sprachen“ aus. Mit seiner Mimik, mit Lauten und mit den Bewegungen seiner Hände und Füsse gibt Kristóf seiner Mutter Auskunft über seine Stimmung und seine Bedürfnisse. Gleichzeitig nimmt er mit allen Sinnen wahr, was seine Mutter ausdrückt. Er lauscht ihrer ruhigen, entspannten Stimme, betrachtet ihren freundlichen Gesichtsausdruck und spürt ihre Finger, die er festhält. Aufgrund der Reaktionen der Mutter auf sein Verhalten erfährt er, ob und wie er verstanden wird. Indem die Mutter Kristófs Mimik und Körpersprache beobachtet oder in die gleiche Richtung schaut wie er, erfährt sie, was ihn fasziniert oder was er mitteilen möchte. Darauf reagiert sie prompt. So nimmt die Mutter etwa sein Interesse am eigenen Füsschen auf. Sie kommentiert seine Bewegungen und hält ihm das Füsschen hoch. Als er unruhig wird, weiss die Mutter dies zu deuten und hebt ihn aus der Babyschale. Dadurch erfährt Kristóf, dass seine Signale wahrgenommen werden und er etwas bewirken kann. Dies ist eine zentrale Erfahrung, denn aus der Entdeckung der eigenen Wirksamkeit sowie aus unmittelbaren körperlichen, sinnlichen und emotionalen Erfahrungen entwickelt sich in den ersten Lebensjahren die personale Identität in ihren verschiedenen Facetten.

## Erfahrungslernen im Alltag des Kindes

Bildungsprozesse sind in der frühen Kindheit immer an konkrete und alltägliche Situationen im Leben des Kindes gebunden. So stillt Kristóf beim Essen des Breis nicht nur den Hunger, sondern macht gleichzeitig vielfältige Erfahrungen: Er erkundet den Geschmack und die Konsistenz des Karotten-Kartoffel-Breis mit der Zunge, hört den Klang und den Rhythmus des Reims, welchen ihm die Mutter vorsagt, und merkt, dass er verschiedene Dinge, wie die Hand seiner Mutter oder sein eigenes Füsschen ergreifen kann. Indem die Mutter in Worte fasst, was Kristóf erlebt oder selber tut, sowie Reime und Lieder im Alltag nutzt, unterstützt sie Kristóf zudem im Erlernen der Sprache. So dient die tägliche Essenssituation nicht nur der Nahrungsaufnahme, sondern eröffnet zugleich unzählige Lerngelegenheiten. Das Lernen erfolgt bei kleinen Kindern nicht isoliert und losgelöst vom konkreten Handlungszusammenhang, sondern immer eingebettet in solche. Dies alles fusst auf der emotionalen, sicherheitsgebenden Beziehung zur Mutter.

## Physisches und psychisches Wohlbefinden

Damit sich ein Kind wohl fühlen und aktiv sein kann, müssen nicht nur seine körperlichen, sondern auch seine psychischen Bedürfnisse gestillt sein. Kristóf ist ausgeschlafen und kann mit dem Zvieri seinen Hunger stillen. Er fühlt sich sichtlich wohl und gut aufgehoben in der Anwesenheit seiner Mutter. Geborgen und gesättigt kann er sich der Zwiesprache mit seiner Mutter konzentriert zuwenden. Die beiden älteren Brüder spielen im Nebenzimmer und die Mutter und Kristóf geniessen die Zweisamkeit. Die beiden nutzen die Essenszeit, um sich intensiv miteinander zu beschäftigen. Solche Momente stärken die Beziehung und geben Kristóf die Gewissheit, eine vertraute und verlässliche Bezugsperson in der Nähe zu haben, die seine Bedürfnisse wahrnimmt und feinfühlig darauf reagiert. Diese Art von Sicherheit ist Voraussetzung dafür, dass sich Kristóf im näheren Umkreis der Mutter auf Erkundungstouren begeben und dabei viele spannende Erfahrungen machen kann.

## Communicating with each other

Exchanges with other people play an important role from birth onwards. Even though Kristóf cannot yet express himself in words, there is a lively exchange between Kristóf and his mother as she feeds him. They make eye contact frequently and smile at each other.

From the beginning, children are equipped with basic abilities to perceive and communicate. They express their feelings and thoughts in “a hundred languages”. With his facial expressions, his sounds and the movements of his hands and feet, Kristóf gives his mother information about his mood and his needs. At the same time, he uses all of his senses to perceive what his mother is expressing. He listens to her quiet, calm voice, watches her friendly facial expression and feels the finger that he is holding. Based on his mother’s reactions to his behavior, he learns whether and how he is being understood. As his mother observes his facial expressions and body language, or looks in the same direction as he does, she learns what interests him or what he wants to express. She responds to this quickly. This is how she notices his interest in his own foot, for instance. She comments on his movements and holds his foot up to him. When he starts to fuss, she knows what this means and lifts him out of the baby seat. This is how Kristóf learns that his signals are perceived and that he can have an effect on others. This is a central experience: from the discovery of their efficacy and from direct physical, sensual and emotional experiences, children develop a multifaceted personal identity in the first years of life.

## Experiential learning in the child’s everyday life

Learning processes in early childhood are always connected with concrete and everyday situations in the child’s life. Kristóf is not only satisfying his hunger as he eats his baby food. He also experiences many things: he explores the taste and consistency of the mashed potatoes and carrots with his tongue, listens to the sound and rhythm of the rhyme that his mother recites to him and notices that he can grasp different things, like his mother’s hand and his own foot. By putting into words what Kristóf is experiencing or doing, and by adding rhymes and songs to everyday activities, his mother is supporting Kristóf’s language learning. In this way, daily meal times not only provide the opportunity to eat but also open up innumerable learning opportunities. Young children do not learn in isolation or outside the context of their actions; learning is always embedded in these contexts. And all of this is based in the child’s emotional, security-giving relationship with his mother.

## Physical and emotional well-being

For children to feel good and be active, their emotional needs have to be satisfied as well as their physical needs. Kristóf is well-rested, and his four o’clock feed satisfies his hunger. He is obviously feeling well and in good hands in the presence of his mother. Secure and satiated, he can focus attention on the dialogue with his mother. His two older brothers are playing in the next room, and Kristóf and his mother are enjoying being together. They use mealtime to interact intensively with each other. Moments like these strengthen their relationship and give Kristóf certainty that he has a familiar and reliable attachment figure near him who notices his needs and responds to them with sensitivity. This kind of security is a necessary condition for Kristóf to be able to venture out and explore the area near his mother, where he experiences many interesting things.

## Echange à deux

L’échange avec d’autres personnes joue dès la naissance un rôle important. Si Kristóf ne peut pas encore s’exprimer avec des mots, un échange soutenu n’en a pas moins lieu entre lui et sa mère pendant son repas. Entre elle et lui, il y a sans cesse un contact visuel ou un sourire.

Les enfants disposent dès le plus jeune âge d’un ensemble de capacités de perception et de communication de base. Ils expriment leurs sentiments et leurs pensées dans «mille et une langues différentes». Par sa mimique, par les sons qu’il émet et par les mouvements de ses mains et de ses pieds, Kristóf indique à sa mère ce qu’il ressent et ce dont il a besoin. Dans le même temps, il perçoit par tous ses sens ce que sa mère exprime. Il écoute la voix calme et détendue de celle-ci, observe l‘expression amicale de son visage et sent ses doigts, qu’il tient fermement dans ses mains. Les réactions de sa mère le renseignent à leur tour sur la manière dont il est compris. En observant la mimique et le langage corporel de Kristóf, ou en regardant dans la même direction que lui, sa mère comprend ce qui l’intéresse ou ce qu’il veut communiquer. Et elle y réagit immédiatement. Elle note par exemple l‘intérêt qu’il porte à son propre pied. Elle commente ses mouvements et lui maintient le pied en l’air. Quand il commence à s’agiter, elle sait l’interpréter correctement et le prend dans ses bras. Kristóf constate que les signaux qu’il émet sont reçus et qu’il peut donc avoir une influence sur les choses qui l’entourent. C’est là une expérience centrale car l’identité de l’enfant se constitue, avec toutes ses facettes, à partir de la conscience de son efficacité propre sur son environnement, ainsi que des expériences corporelles, sensorielles et émotionnelles immédiates qu’il rassemble dans ses premières années.

## L’apprentissage empirique dans le quotidien de l‘enfant

Les processus de formation dans la petite enfance sont toujours liés à des situations quotidiennes concrètes dans la vie de l’enfant. En mangeant sa purée, Kristóf ne satisfait pas seulement sa faim, il fait également les expériences les plus variées: il découvre le goût et la consistance de la purée de pommes de terre - carottes avec sa langue, il écoute les sonorités et le rythme de la comptine que sa mère lui chante, et constate qu’il est capable d’attraper différentes choses, comme la main de sa mère ou son propre pied. En commentant ce que Kristóf vit ou fait et en utilisant des comptines et des chansons dans la vie quotidienne, sa mère le soutient en outre dans l’acquisition du langage. Le repas quotidien ne sert donc pas seulement à se nourrir mais offre également de très nombreuses possibilités d’apprendre. Chez les jeunes enfants, l‘apprentissage n’est pas isolé, mais au contraire toujours intégré dans un contexte d’activités concret. Tout cela s’appuie sur la relation émotionnelle rassurante avec la mère.

## Bien-être physique et psychique

Pour qu’un enfant se sente bien et qu’il puisse agir, il faut que ses besoins tant corporels que psychiques soient satisfaits. Kristóf a bien dormi et prend son goûter pour calmer sa faim. Avec sa mère, il se sent bien et il est en de bonnes mains. En sécurité et rassasié, il peut se consacrer entièrement au dialogue avec sa mère. Ses deux frères aînés jouent dans la chambre d’à côté; il peut donc profiter complètement de ce moment avec sa mère, à laquelle il se donne pleinement pendant le temps du repas. De tels moments renforcent la relation et donnent à Kristóf l’assurance d’avoir à proximité une personne proche et de confiance, qui est à l’écoute de ses besoins et y réagit avec une grande sensibilité. Ce type de sécurité permet à Kristóf d’explorer les choses près de sa mère et de faire de nombreuses expériences passionnantes.

## Condividere insieme

L’interazione con altre persone gioca un ruolo significativo fin dalla nascita. Anche se Kristòf non può ancora esprimersi con le parole, durante il pasto si svolge un vivace scambio tra lui e sua madre. Hanno ripetutamente un contatto visivo o si sorridono a vicenda.

Fin dall'inizio, i bambini hanno un set base di capacità percettive e di comunicazione. Essi esprimono i loro sentimenti e i loro pensieri in "cento linguaggi". Con le sue espressioni facciali, con i suoni e i movimenti delle mani e dei piedi Kristòf trasmette a sua madre informazioni sul suo stato d'animo e le sue esigenze. Attraverso tutti i sensi, e al tempo stesso, avverte ciò che esprime sua madre. Lui ascolta la sua voce calma e rilassata, osserva l‘espressione gentile del viso e sente le sue dita, dita che Kristòf trattiene. Dalle reazioni della madre al suo comportamento scopre se, e come, viene capito. Osservando le espressioni facciali e il linguaggio del corpo di Kristòf, o guardando nella sua stessa direzione, la madre capisce cosa lo affascina e cosa vorrebbe comunicare. A tutto ciò la madre risponde in tempi brevi. E’ così che la madre cattura l’interesse che Kristòf rivolge ai suoi stessi piedini. Commenta i movimenti dei piedini e ne solleva uno. Quando diventa inquieto, la madre sa come interpretarlo e lo tira fuori dal seggiolino per bambini. In questo modo Kristòf apprende che i suoi segnali vengono colti e quanto siano efficaci. Questa è un'esperienza fondamentale poiché, dalla scoperta della propria efficacia, nonché dalle esperienze fisiche, sensoriali ed emotive, si sviluppa, nei primi anni di vita, l’identità personale nelle sue varie sfaccettature.

## Esperienze d’apprendimento del bambino nella vita di tutti i giorni

I processi di formazione nella prima infanzia sono strettamente legati alle situazioni concrete e quotidiane della vita del bambino. Kristóf, mangiando la pappa, non placa solo la fame ma, al tempo stesso, fa molteplici altre esperienze. Esplora con la lingua il gusto e la consistenza della pappa di carote e patate, ascolta il suono e il ritmo delle rime che la mamma gli propone, e si accorge che può afferrare diverse cose, come la mano della mamma o i suoi piedini. Così, il pasto quotidiano non serve unicamente per cibarsi, ma apre innumerevoli opportunità di apprendimento. L'apprendimento nei bambini piccoli non avviene isolato e staccato dal contesto concreto di un’azione, ma ne è parte integrante. Tutto questo poggia sulla relazione emozionale e sul senso di sicurezza verso la madre.

## Benessere fisico e psicologico

Affinché un bambino si senta a proprio agio e possa essere attivo, non devono essere appagati solo i suoi bisogni fisici, ma anche quelli psicologici. Kristòf è riposato e può soddisfare la sua fame con la merenda. In presenza della madre si sente a suo agio e in buone mani. Protetto e saziato può dedicarsi concentrato alla conversazione con la madre. I due fratelli maggiori giocano nella stanza accanto, la madre e Kristòf godono lo stare insieme. Entrambi approfittano del momento del pranzo per dedicarsi intensamente l’uno all’altro. Momenti come questo rafforzano il rapporto e danno a Kristòf la certezza di avere accanto una persona di riferimento fidata e affidabile che percepisce i suoi bisogni e reagisce ad essi con sensibilità. Questo tipo di protezione è necessaria affinché Kristòf, nelle immediate vicinanze della madre, possa esplorare e fare molte emozionanti esperienze.
