## Erfahrungslernen im Alltag des Kindes

Mara kommt gerade von ihrem Mittagsschlaf und möchte nun wieder ihre Socken anziehen. Es ist eine alltägliche Aufgabe, die sie – mit mehr oder mit weniger Unterstützung – schon viele Male gemacht hat. Auch wenn es nicht so schnell geht wie bei den Erwachsenen, so ist Mara dennoch schon sehr geübt und braucht nun gar keine Hilfe mehr. Trotz des Trubels um sie herum widmet sie sich konzentriert und sorgfältig der Verfolgung ihres Ziels. Sie hat eine genaue Vorstellung davon, wie die Socke an ihrem Fuss sitzen muss, und weiss auch, wie sie dies erreicht. Auf jedes Detail achtet sie, beispielsweise, dass der Rand der Socke ganz oben richtig sitzt. Das dauert zwar eine Weile, doch die Erzieherin sitzt geduldig vor ihr und gibt Mara so viel Zeit, wie sie braucht. Sie weiss, dass Mara mit jedem Mal sicherer wird und es besser klappt. Schon bei der zweiten Socke kann man auch heute wieder einen Fortschritt erkennen: Mara braucht nicht mehr ihre volle Aufmerksamkeit fürs Anziehen. Sie kann nun nebenbei auch noch mitreden, wer im Wald war. Kleine Kinder lernen durch Handlungen und Erfahrungen. Mara lernt, wie sie sich ihre Socken anziehen kann, indem sie es eigenständig tut und die Möglichkeit erhält, es bei jeder Gelegenheit selbst auszuprobieren. Durch Wiederholungen kann Mara ihre Fähigkeiten verfestigen und weiterentwickeln.

## Selbständig Aufgaben meistern

Sich selbst die Socken anzuziehen, muss erst gelernt werden. Mara bekommt hier die Möglichkeit, diese anspruchsvolle Aufgabe selbst zu meistern. Die Erzieherin ist in der Nähe. Sie könnte helfen, falls Mara Unterstützung benötigte. Doch Mara schafft es schon sehr gut alleine. Solche alltäglichen und doch herausfordernden Aufgaben sind für kleine Kinder wichtige Lerngelegenheiten. Wenn Kinder diese Aufgaben selbst meistern, dann erleben sie, dass sie etwas bewirkt und erreicht haben. Dieses Gefühl der Selbstwirksamkeit ist zentral für den allmählichen Aufbau eines positiven und zugleich realistischen Selbstkonzepts. So können Kinder zuversichtlich und selbstbewusst an neue Aufgaben herangehen.

## Experiential learning in the child’s everyday life

Mara has just had her after-lunch nap and wants to put her socks back on. This is a daily task that she has done many times with more and less help. Even though it takes her longer than it takes an adult, Mara has had a lot of practice and no longer needs any assistance. Despite all the busy activity around her, she devotes herself to her task with concentration and care. She has a precise notion of how her sock should sit on her foot and knows how to achieve it. She pays attention to every detail, such as making sure that the top of the sock lays flat under her knee. This takes her some time, but her teacher sits patiently in front of her and gives her as much time as she needs. She knows that each time Mara puts on her socks she will be surer and do it better. Today she already displays progress as she puts on the second sock, for she no longer needs to devote her entire attention to the task. As she pulls up the sock, she can also talk with the others about who was in the wood. Young children learn by doing and experiencing. Mara learns to put on her socks by doing it independently and by being given the opportunity to try it herself whenever possible. Through repeated tries, she can strengthen her skills and develop them further.

## Doing tasks on their own

Putting on socks has to be learned. Mara is being given the opportunity to perform this demanding skill independently. Her teacher is nearby. She could help Mara if Mara needed her to. But Mara manages very well all by herself. Ordinary but also challenging daily tasks are important learning opportunities for young children. When they master the tasks on their own, they have a feeling of self-efficacy and accomplishment. This is of central importance for the gradual development of a positive and also realistic self-concept, which enables children to approach new tasks with confidence and self-assurance.

## L’apprentissage par l’expérience dans le quotidien de l’enfant

Mara vient juste de terminer sa sieste et veut renfiler ses chaussettes. C’est une tâche quotidienne qu’elle a effectuée plusieurs fois, avec une aide plus ou moins importante. Même si cela ne va pas aussi vite que chez les adultes, Mara est déjà très entraînée et n’a plus besoin d’aide. Malgré l’agitation autour d’elle, elle est très concentrée et soigneuse pour atteindre le but qu’elle s’est fixé. Elle sait déjà précisément comment la chaussette doit être fixée au pied, et elle sait aussi comment l’enfiler correctement. Elle veille à chaque détail, par exemple, elle fait attention à ce que le bord de la chaussette soit placé correctement en haut. Il est vrai que cela dure un certain temps, mais l’éducatrice, est assise devant elle, pleine de patience et lui laisse tout le temps dont elle a besoin. Elle sait que Mara acquerra une assurance à chaque fois plus grande. Aujourd’hui aussi, dès la deuxième chaussette, il sera possible de noter un progrès: Mara n’a plus besoin de consacrer toute son attention à son habillement. Elle peut parler en même temps et dire qui était dans la forêt. Les jeunes enfants apprennent par leurs actes et les expériences qu’ils font. Mara apprend comment enfiler ses chaussettes en le faisant elle-même, et parce qu’on lui a donné la possibilité de s’exercer à chaque occasion. La répétition lui permet de consolider et de développer ses aptitudes.

## Venir à bout de tâches de manière autonome

Enfiler soi-même ses chaussettes, cela s’apprend. Mara a ici la possibilité de venir à bout de cette tâche difficile toute seule. L’éducatrice se trouve à proximité. Elle pourrait aider Mara si celle-ci en avait besoin. Mais Mara y arrive très bien toute seule. Ce type de tâches quotidiennes et pourtant pas si simples offre des occasions d’apprentissage importantes pour les jeunes enfants. Lorsqu’ils arrivent à en venir à bout seuls, ils prennent conscience qu’ils ont réalisé et atteint quelque chose. Ce sentiment de l’auto-efficacité est central dans la constitution progressive d’une perception de soi à la fois positive et réaliste. Les enfants peuvent ainsi aborder de nouvelles tâches à la fois avec assurance et avec la conscience de leur valeur propre.

## Imparare dalle esperienze della quotidianità

Mara esce dal sonno pomeridiano e vorrebbe rimettersi le calze. E’ un compito che fa parte della quotidianità, compito che lei ha svolto ripetutamente con vari aiuti. Anche se non riesce a procedere in modo veloce come lo sanno fare gli adulti, l’esercizio le permette di agire da sola. Nonostante il caos che la circonda, Mara riesce a perseguire, con concentrazione e con cura, il suo obiettivo. Mara sa esattamente come deve essere messa la calza sul piede e sa anche come fare per giungere al risultato. Presta attenzione ad ogni dettaglio e, ad esempio, sa che il bordo della calza deve essere rivolto verso l’alto e che deve posizionarsi in modo corretto. Tutto ciò dura un certo tempo, ma l’educatrice rimane seduta davanti a Mara e, con pazienza, le concede tutto il tempo necessario. L’educatrice sa che Mara migliora ogni volta, e ogni volta è più sicura di ciò che fa. E’ possibile vedere un progresso persino quando Mara mette la seconda calza: quando deve vestirsi Mara non ha più bisogno dell’attenzione dell’educatrice.

Ora è anche in grado di prendere parte a un discorso che riguarda i bambini che sono stati nel bosco. I bambini piccoli imparano vivendo esperienze e svolgendo attività. Mara impara a mettersi le calze in quanto lo fa da sola e, in ogni circostanza, prova, sperimenta per proprio conto. La ripetizione permette a Mara di consolidare e di ulteriormente sviluppare le sue capacità.

## Fronteggiare le situazioni per conto proprio

Mettere le calze da sola deve essere appreso. In questo caso Mara ha la possibilità di venire a capo da sola di un compito così impegnativo. L’educatrice è nelle vicinanze. Qualora Mara avesse bisogno l’educatrice la può aiutare. Ma Mara ce la fa abbastanza bene da sola. Compiti e sfide quotidiane di questa natura sono per i bambini piccoli occasioni di apprendimento.

Nella misura in cui i bambini piccoli possono far fronte da soli a situazioni di questa natura, provano il sentimento di essere stati capaci di fare qualcosa, di aver raggiunto uno scopo. Il sentimento di autoefficacia svolge un ruolo centrale nella costruzione di un sé al tempo stesso positivo e realistico. E’ in questo modo che i bambini piccoli possono affrontare fiduciosi e consapevoli nuovi compiti.
