## Respektvolle Botschaften, Ermutigungen und Anteilnahme

Zalán hat Bedenken, ob er die kleinen Süssigkeiten in die Donald-Duck-Schiene stecken kann: „Ich möchte das können, ich schaffe es nur nicht. Ich habe es schon oft versucht. Es geht einfach nicht.” Seine Mutter dagegen ermutigt ihn: „Versuch es, vielleicht gelingt es dir jetzt doch! Ja? Wenn es dir nicht gelingt, dann kommt Mama und hilft dir.” Solche aufmunternden Worte geben Kindern Mut, knifflige Dinge anzugehen und auch standzuhalten, wenn es mal schwierig wird. Und es ist nicht einfach für Zalán, der Verlockung zu trotzen, das weiss er selbst: „Ich kann nicht widerstehen. Ich werde es sowieso essen.“ Doch er bleibt stark und steckt ein Bonbon nach dem anderen in die Schiene hinein, bis die Packung leer ist. Zwischendurch erkundigt sich seine Mutter, ob es klappt. Und ja, es scheint zu klappen. Die Mutter freut sich mit ihrem Sohn. „Es klappt! Super!“, sagt sie. „Siehst du, das kannst du doch ganz alleine. Ja?“ Sie hat ihrem Sohn von Anfang an zugetraut, dass er die selbst gewählte Aufgabe bewältigen kann. Und wenn es Mama Zalán zutraut, dann kann er auch selbst dieses Vertrauen in seine Fähigkeiten haben. Zum Schluss noch eine Wertschätzung: „Das habt ihr gut gemacht!“ Diese Äusserungen der Mutter enthalten verschiedene Botschaften: Die Mutter traut und mutet Zalán einiges zu. Ihre Wertschätzung und Ermunterung stärken Zalán darin, die Aufgabe selbst zu meistern und auch zukünftig selbstbewusst an neue Herausforderungen heranzutreten. So kann Zalán ein positives und zugleich realistisches Selbstkonzept nach und nach aufbauen.

## Ganzheitliches Lernen

Der Alltag ist voller Lerngelegenheiten. Auch das Umfüllen von Süssigkeiten kann Möglichkeiten zum Lernen bieten. Mit akribischer Genauigkeit zählt Zalán immer wieder seine Bonbons. Wie viele sind schon versorgt? Wie viele noch übrig? Und wie viele sind es eigentlich insgesamt? Zalán nutzt die Gelegenheit, um sein Wissen über Zahlen anzuwenden und das Zählen zu üben. Das Einfüllen der kleinen Süssigkeiten verlangt Konzentration und Fingerfertigkeit – es ist eine ausgezeichnete Feinmotorikübung. Nebenbei übt Zalán auch die Sprache, indem er mit der Mutter sowie dem grösseren Bruder kommuniziert und die Zahlen laut ausspricht.

Kleine Kinder brauchen für sie interessante Aufgaben, Herausforderungen und Spielsituationen. Ganz nebenbei können sie so ihre Kompetenzen in ganz unterschiedlichen Bereichen anwenden, festigen und erweitern.

## Eigene Lösungswege suchen und erproben

Zalán steht vor der Schwierigkeit, die kleinen Bonbons in der Donald-Duck-Schiene aufzureihen. Die Mutter, welche in Hörweite ist, nimmt ihm das nicht ab, sondern lässt Zalán Zeit, diese Herausforderung selbst zu bewältigen. Denn nur, wenn Zalán es selbst tut, kann er Selbstwirksamkeit und Erfolgsfreude erleben. Zalán kann auch weitere wertvolle Lernprozesse machen. Am Ende weiss er, wie viele kleine Bonbons hineinpassen und wie man sie am besten hineinstecken kann. Und vor allem weiss er, dass er es selbst geschafft hat und es das nächste Mal wieder schaffen kann. Er erlebt sich als handlungsfähig und kompetent. Ganz nebenbei hat die Mutter Zalán geholfen, einen Plan zu verfolgen und dafür eine süsse Belohnung etwas aufzuschieben.

## Respectful messages, encouragement and taking interest

Zalán has doubts about whether he can get the little pieces of candy into the Donald Duck dispenser: “I want to be able to do that, but I just can’t. I have tried many times. It just doesn’t work.“ But his mother encourages him: “Try; maybe you can do it after all! Yeah? If you can’t, then Mama will come and help you.” Encouraging words like this give children courage to tackle tricky things and to show persistence when the going gets tough. It is not easy for Zalán to resist the temptation of the sweets and he knows that himself: “I can’t resist. I am going to eat them anyway.“ But he stays strong and inserts one sweet after the other into the dispenser, until the package is empty. Now and again his mother asks how it is going. And yes, it seems to be working. Zalán’s mother shares his pleasure and says: “It is working! Great!” and “You see, you did that all by yourself!“ She had confidence in her son from the start that he could manage this self-chosen task on his own. And if his mother has confidence in him, then Zalán can also trust in his own abilities. And when he and his brother are finished, their mother praises them: “You two did a good job!” Her comments contain several messages: she trusts in Zalán and is confident that he can do many things. Her esteem and encouragement bolster Zalán’s confidence that he can master the task and that he can also take on new future challenges self-confidently. In this way Zalán can gradually develop a positive and realistic self-concept.

## Holistic learning

Daily life is full of learning opportunities. Even a task like filling the dispenser with the little pieces of candy provides opportunities for learning. Zalán meticulously counts the number of sweets several times. How many has he already put into the dispenser? How many are left? And how many are there in total, actually? Zalán is using this task as a chance to apply his knowledge of numbers and to practice counting. Filling the dispenser with the little pieces demands concentration and manual dexterity; it is an excellent activity for fine-motor skills. Additionally, Zalán is also practicing his language skills as he communicates with his mother and brother and says the numbers aloud.

Young children need tasks, challenges and play situations that they find interesting. When children play and perform tasks, they learn, apply, strengthen and expand their skills in all developmental domains.

## Finding and trying out new ways to solve problems independently

Zalán is faced with the difficult task of inserting the small pieces of candy into the Donald Duck dispenser. His mother, who is within hearing distance, does not step in and do it for him but gives him ample time to handle the challenge by himself instead. Zalán can only experience self-efficacy and a feeling of success if he does it himself. The task also involves other valuable learning processes for Zalán. At the end, he knows how many little sweets fit into the dispenser and the best way to insert them. And the main thing is that he now knows that he has done the job by himself and can do it again next time. He experiences himself as capable and competent. As an additional benefit, his mother has helped him to adhere to a plan and to delay gratification for a short while.

## Des messages respectueux, des encouragements et de l’empathie

Zalán hésite à mettre les petits bonbons dans le distributeur en forme de Donald: «J’aimerais pouvoir le faire, je n’y arrive pas. J’ai plusieurs fois essayé. Ça ne marche pas.» Sa mère l’encourage: «Essaie. Peut-être que tu vas quand même y arriver. Si tu n’y arrives pas, maman viendra pour t’aider.» Ce genre de paroles stimule les enfants pour aborder les choses difficiles et pour persévérer face à des obstacles. Et pour Zalán, il n’est pas facile de résister à la tentation, il le sait bien: «Je ne peux pas résister. Je vais de toute façon le manger.» Mais il tient bon et insère un bonbon après l’autre dans le rail du distributeur, jusqu’à ce que le paquet soit vide. Sa mère lui demande de temps à autre si cela se passe bien. Et de fait, cela semble marcher. La mère se réjouit avec son fils. «Super!», dit-elle. «Tu vois, tu te débrouilles très bien tout seul.» Dès le début, elle savait que son fils était capable de venir à bout de la tâche qu’il avait lui-même choisie. Et si maman fait confiance à Zalán, il peut lui aussi avoir confiance dans ses propres capacités. Et pour finir, encore un petit compliment: «Vous l’avez très bien fait, les garçons!» Ces phrases comportent plusieurs messages: sa mère estime que Zalán est capable de faire des choses et elle a confiance en lui. Cette estime et ces encouragements renforcent Zalán pour mener à bien tout seul la tâche et aborder avec assurance de futurs défis. Cette expérience contribue à la constitution progressive chez Zalánd’une perception de soi à la fois positive et réaliste.

## Un apprentissage global

Le quotidien est plein de possibilités d’apprentissage. Transférer des bonbons d’un contenant à un autre peut également permettre d’apprendre quelque chose. Zalán compte et recompte ses bonbons avec une précision d’horloger. Combien en a-t-il déjà transférés? Combien en reste-t-il? Et combien y en a-t-il en tout? Zalán profite de l’occasion pour appliquer sa connaissance des nombres et s’exercer à compter. Transférer les petits bonbons exige de la concentration et de l’adresse. C’est un excellent exercice de motricité fine. Zalán s’entraîne également à parler, en passant, lorsqu’il communique avec sa mère et avec son frère ainé, et prononce les chiffres à haute voix.

Les jeunes enfants ont besoin de tâches qui les intéressent, de défis et de situations ludiques. Ils appliquent, renforcent et élargissent par là même, en passant, leurs compétences dans les domaines les plus divers.

## Chercher et essayer ses propres solutions

Zalán se trouve face à une difficulté: il doit placer les petits bonbons dans le rail du distributeur en forme de Donald. Sa mère, qui est à portée de voix, ne le fait pas à sa place, mais lui laisse au contraire le temps nécessaire pour venir à bout lui-même de ce défi. Car ce n’est qu’en le faisant lui-même que Zalán pourra à la fois prendre conscience de sa propre efficacité et éprouver la joie de la réussite. Zalán peut encore mettre à exécution d’autres processus d’apprentissage précieux. Il sait à la fin combien de petits bonbons on peut mettre dans le distributeur et comment les y insérer de la manière la plus adroite. Et il sait surtout qu’il a réussi à le faire tout seul et que la prochaine fois, il pourra aussi le faire seul. Il fait l’expérience de lui-même comme d’une personne capable d’agir et compétente. Sans en avoir l’air, sa mère l’a un tout petit peu aidé à suivre un plan et à recevoir, en contrepartie, une douce récompense pour avoir résisté à un plaisir immédiat.

## Messaggi rispettosi, incoraggiamenti e partecipazione

Zalàn dubita di riuscire a infilare i piccoli dolci nel binario Donald-Duck: “Vorrei poterlo fare, ma non ci riesco. Ho già provato più volte. Ma non funziona”. Al contrario sua madre lo incoraggia: “Prova, forse adesso ce la fai! Sì? Se non riesci arriva la mamma e ti aiuta”. Incoraggiamenti simili danno coraggio al bambino e lo motivano ad affrontare con costanza situazioni delicate, anche quando queste ultime diventano difficili. Per Zalàn non è facile resistere alla tentazione, e ne è consapevole: “Non so resistere. Prima o poi lo mangio comunque”. Ciononostante non rinuncia e inserisce le caramelle, una dopo l’altra, nel binario fino a quando il pacchetto è vuoto. Di tanto in tanto la madre verifica se funziona. E sembra proprio di sì. La mamma si rallegra con suo figlio. “Funziona! Super!”, dice. “Vedi che sei capace di farlo da solo. Sì?”. La madre ha, sin dall’inizio, dato fiducia al bambino, nel senso che gli ha fatto sentire che sarebbe riuscito a farlo. E se la mamma manifesta fiducia, allora anche il bambino può avere fiducia nelle sue capacità. E per finire ancora un apprezzamento: la madre ha il coraggio di attribuire al bambino una certa responsabilità. La sua stima rafforza Zalàn nella capacità di saper affrontare in futuro, da solo e in modo consapevole, nuove sfide. E’ in questo modo che Zalàn riesce a costruire, man mano, un concetto positivo e realistico di sé.

## Apprendimento olistico

La quotidianità presenta infinite occasioni di apprendimento. Persino il travaso di dolci può essere un’occasione di apprendimento. Con molto scrupolo Zalàn conta ripetutamente le sue caramelle. Quante sono quelle che sono già state sistemate? Quante ne rimangono? E quante sono in tutto? Zalàn coglie l’occasione per mettere alla prova le sue conoscenze in fatto di numeri e il saper contare. L’attività del riempimento con i piccoli dolci richiede concentrazione e abilità manuale – è un ottimo esercizio di motricità fine. Allo stesso tempo, Zalàn, esercita anche la lingua in quanto comunica con la madre e con il fratello maggiore e, ad alta voce, pronuncia i numeri.

I bambini piccoli hanno bisogno di far fronte a compiti interessanti, a sfide e a situazioni di gioco. E’ così che, in forma complementare, possono applicare, rafforzare e ampliare le loro competenze nei più disparati ambiti.

## Ricercare e sperimentare la ricerca autonoma di soluzioni

Zalàn si trova confrontato con la difficoltà di dover sistemare le piccole caramelle nel binario Donald-Duck. La madre, che si trova a distanza di ascolto, non gli toglie la responsabilità del compito, bensì gli lascia il tempo necessario affinché possa essere lui ad affrontare e a padroneggiare questa sfida. E’ solo attraverso l’attività svolta per proprio conto che Zalàn può vivere l’esperienza del successo e dell’autoefficacia. Zalàn è in grado di vivere altri importanti processi di apprendimento. Alla fine sa quante sono le caramelle che ci stanno nel binario e qual è il modo migliore per infilarle. E ciò che più conta, sa che ce l’ha fatta da solo e che la prossima volta lo saprà fare da solo: egli percepisce se stesso come competente e capace di agire. Parallelamente all’attività descritta la madre ha aiutato Zalàn a seguire un piano e a rimandare nel tempo la gratificazione della caramella.
