## Den Kindern Gestaltungsraum geben (S. 23)
Es ist beachtlich, was Moussa mit seinen zweieinhalb Jahren sprachlich schon leistet. Zu Hause spricht er Französisch, in der Kita Deutsch. Auf der gemeinsamen Busfahrt teilt Moussa seine aktuellen Beobachtungen mit und kommt so mit seiner Begleiterin ins Gespräch. Dabei setzt er seine sprachlichen Fähigkeiten geschickt ein. Er bestätigt, wenn er richtig verstanden wurde („Ja, aufpassen, sonst weh machen.“), bringt neue Aspekte ein („Nachher gibt’s Beule.“) und greift Formulierungen seiner Gesprächspartnerin auf („Nachher Moussa aufpassen. Hände geben.“). Die Kita-Mitarbeiterin hört genau zu, spinnt mit wenigen Wörtern den Dialog weiter und gibt Moussa Raum und Zeit, seine Gedanken zu formulieren. Indem sie sich auf das Gespräch einlässt und Moussa als Gesprächspartner ernst nimmt, motiviert sie ihn, am Thema dran zu bleiben. So kann er eine führende Gesprächsrolle übernehmen und dabei seine sprachlichen Fähigkeiten erweitern und verfeinern.

## Das Verstehen ins Zentrum stellen und mit allen Mitteln unterstützen (S. 23)
Moussa bereitet das Gespräch sichtlich Spass, und er bringt sich engagiert ein. Dieser motivierte Sprachgebrauch muss bei der Kommunikation im Zentrum stehen. Entsprechend sollten Erwachsene den Fokus nicht auf die Korrektheit sprachlicher Formulierungen legen, sondern auf das Verstehen der kindlichen Äusserungen und das Weiterentwickeln des Gesprächs. Noch bestehen die Äusserungen von Moussa aus wenigen Worten, und es ist für das Gegenüber nicht immer einfach, alles zu verstehen. Das gehört zum Spracherwerb dazu. Umso wichtiger ist es, dass die Gesprächspartnerin genau hinhört und nicht voreilig interpretiert. Zudem kann sie durch das Aufgreifen seiner Aussagen spiegeln, was sie verstanden hat („Ja, genau. Vor den Autos muss man gut aufpassen.“). Indem sie Moussas Worte in längere Sätze packt und seine Aussagen ergänzt und erweitert, bietet sie ihm ganz nebenbei neue sprachliche Mittel an.

## Interaktionen an die einzelnen Kinder anpassen (S. 27)
Die Fachperson nutzt verständliche Wörter und macht kurze, klare Sätze („Genau. Wenn wir über die Strasse gehen, müssen wir gut aufpassen.“). So passt sie sich Moussas aktuellen sprachlichen Fähigkeiten an und erleichtert ihm das Verstehen. Zudem greift sie Ausdrücke von Moussa auf und differenziert diese oder gibt sie in korrekter Form wieder (Moussa: „Nachher gibt‘s Beule.“ Fachperson: „Dann gibt es eine Beule, gell.“). Gleichzeitig erweitert sie seine Beiträge und fügt neue Informationen hinzu („Und einander immer gut an den Händen halten.“). Dadurch signalisiert sie ihr Interesse an Moussas Aussagen und beteiligt sich aktiv am Gespräch, ohne dieses zu dominieren.

## Giving children space to express themselves (p. 20)
Moussa’s language skills are impressive for a two-and-a-half-year-old. He speaks French at home and German in the kindergarten. On the joint bus trip, Moussa communicates his current observations, thus entering into discussion with his companion. In doing so, he deploys his linguistic skills with aplomb. He confirms when he has correctly understood (“Yes, be careful, or hurt”), introduces new aspects (“Afterwards there is bruise”) and picks up the formulations of his discussion partner (“Afterwards, Moussa careful. Hold hands.”). The kindergarten employee listens carefully, develops the dialogue with just a few words and gives Moussa time and space to formulate his thoughts. By participating in the discussion and taking Moussa seriously as a discussion partner, she motivates him to remain on topic. This allows him to take a leading role in the conversation and extend and refine his linguistic skills in the process.

## Focusing on understanding and supporting it with all means (p. 20)
Moussa is clearly enjoying the conversation and is taking an active part in it. This motivated use of language must be the focal point of the communication. Accordingly, adults should not focus on the correctness of the linguistic formulations but rather on understanding what the child says and on developing the discussion. Moussa’s utterances are still made up of just a few words, and it is not always easy for his discussion partner to understand everything that he says. This is part of language learning. It is even more important that the discussion partner listens carefully and does not interpret what is being said prematurely. Furthermore, by picking up on his utterances, she reflects back what she has understood (“Yes, right. You need to be really careful in front of cars.”). By putting Moussa’s words into longer sentences and adding to and expanding on what he says, she provides him with new linguistic material as an added extra.

## Adapting interactions to individual children (p. 23)
The caregiver uses words that Moussa can understand and speaks in short, clear sentences (“Right. We need to be really careful when we cross the street.“). In this way, she adjusts to Moussa’s current linguistic skills and makes it easier for him to understand what she is saying. She also comments on Moussa’s utterances and differentiates them, or reproduces them in the correct form (Moussa: “Afterwards there is bruise.” Caregiver: “Then you get a bruise, right.”). At the same time, she expands on his contributions and adds new information to them (“And always hold on tight to each other’s hand”). In this way, she shows interest in Moussa’s utterances and takes an active part in the discussion without dominating it.


## Donner aux enfants l’espace nécessaire pour créer (p. 23)
Les capacités linguistiques de Moussa, âgé de deux ans et demi, sont remarquables. À la maison, il parle français et à la crèche, allemand. Durant le voyage en bus, Moussa fait part de ses observations et entame ainsi la conversation avec son accompagnatrice. Il utilise ses compétences linguistiques de façon habile. Il confirme lorsqu’il a été compris (« Oui. Attention, sinon ça fait mal. »), introduit de nouveaux aspects (« Et ça fait une bosse. ») et reprend certaines formulations de son interlocutrice (« Après, Moussa fait attention. Donne la main. »). L’éducatrice de la crèche écoute attentivement et poursuit le dialogue avec quelques mots, donnant à Moussa le temps et l’espace nécessaire pour formuler ses pensées. En participant à la conversation et en prenant Moussa au sérieux en tant qu’interlocuteur, elle l’encourage à poursuivre sur sa lancée. Il adopte alors un rôle dominant dans la conversation et développe et affine ainsi ses capacités linguistiques.

## Placer la compréhension au centre et l’encourager par tous les moyens (p. 23)
Moussa prend visiblement plaisir et il participe de manière engagée. Cet usage motivé de la langue doit être au centre de la communication. Par conséquent, les adultes ne devraient pas tant se focaliser sur l’aspect grammatical, mais plutôt s’attacher à comprendre l’enfant et à poursuivre la conversation. À ce stade, Moussa n’emploie que peu de mots pour s’exprimer et il n’est pas toujours facile pour ses interlocuteurs de le comprendre. Cela fait partie de l’apprentissage de la langue. Il est donc d’autant plus important que son interlocutrice écoute attentivement et n’interprète pas trop vite ce qu’il dit. De plus, en reprenant ses affirmations, elle lui indique ce qu’elle a compris (« Oui, il faut faire attention sur la route. »). En intégrant les paroles de Moussa dans des phrases plus longues et en complétant ses affirmations, elle lui offre de nouveaux moyens linguistiques.

## Adapter les interactions à chaque enfant (p. 27)
L’éducatrice utilise des mots compréhensibles et forme des phrases courtes et claires (« Quand on traverse la route, il faut faire attention. »). Elle s’adapte ainsi aux capacités linguistiques de Moussa et lui facilite la compréhension. De plus, elle reprend les expressions de Moussa et le reformule correctement (Moussa : « Et ça fait une bosse. » ; éducatrice : « Oui, ça fait des bosses. Tu as raison. »). Dans le même temps, elle complète ses affirmations avec de nouvelles informations (« Toujours bien donner la main. »). Elle montre ainsi son intérêt pour ce que Moussa dit et participe activement à la conversation sans la dominer.



## Concedere ai bambini libertà di espressione (pag. 23)
È sorprendente vedere come Moussa sappia già destreggiarsi bene con la lingua a soli due anni e mezzo. A casa parla francese, all’asilo nido tedesco. Durante il tragitto in autobus Moussa fa le sue osservazioni e inizia a parlare con la sua accompagnatrice utilizzando abilmente le sue capacità linguistiche. Conferma quando ha capito correttamente (“Sì, far attenzione, altrimenti fa male.”), introduce nuovi aspetti (“Dopo c’è bernoccolo.”) e riprende le frasi della sua interlocutrice (“Dopo Moussa deve far attenzione. Dare la mano.”). La collaboratrice del nido ascolta con attenzione, sviluppa il dialogo con poche parole e concede a Moussa tempo e spazio per formulare i suoi pensieri. Partecipando alla conversazione e prendendo sul serio Moussa come interlocutore, lo motiva a continuare a parlare. In questo modo lui può assumere il ruolo principale nella conversazione e approfondire e affinare le sue capacità linguistiche.

## Porre al centro la comprensione e supportarla con tutti i mezzi (pag. 23)
Moussa è visibilmente divertito dalla conversazione e vi partecipa mettendoci tutto il suo impegno. Quest’utilizzo motivato della lingua deve essere al centro della comunicazione. Di conseguenza gli adulti non dovrebbero concentrarsi sulla correttezza delle formulazioni linguistiche, ma sulla comprensione delle espressioni del bambino e sullo sviluppo della conversazione. Le frasi di Moussa consistono ancora di poche parole e non è sempre facile per l’interlocutore comprendere ogni cosa che dice. Fa parte dell’acquisizione del linguaggio. Questa è dunque una ragione in più per l’interlocutrice per ascoltarlo con attenzione ed evitare di interpretare le frasi in modo precipitoso. Inoltre, riprendendo le frasi del bambino può dimostrare cosa ha capito (“Esatto, bisogna far attenzione davanti alle auto.”). Per di più, inserendo le parole di Moussa in frasi più articolate e integrando e ampliando quello che dice, gli offre mezzi linguistici nuovi.

## Adeguare le interazioni ai singoli bambini (pag. 27)
L’educatrice utilizza parole comprensibili e formula frasi brevi e chiare (“Giusto. Quando attraversiamo la strada dobbiamo stare attenti.”). In questo modo si adegua alle attuali capacità linguistiche di Moussa e gli facilita la comprensione. Inoltre riprende le espressioni del piccolo e le varia o le riformula correttamente (Moussa: “Dopo c’è bernoccolo.” Educatrice: “Poi c'è un bernoccolo, eh. Hai ragione”). Al tempo stesso amplia i suoi contributi e aggiunge nuove informazioni (“E tenerci sempre per mano.”). In questo modo mostra il suo interesse per le frasi di Moussa e partecipa attivamente alla conversazione senza dominarla.
