## Ganzheitliches Lernen

Kinder versuchen vom ersten Tag an, die Zusammenhänge der Welt um sie herum zu „be-greifen“. Sie nutzen dabei all ihre Energie und alle Sinne. Genau das tun hier Meret, Anna, Paolo und Nevin. Sie fühlen, riechen und betrachten die verschiedenen Materialien zum Dekorieren des Backwerks und probieren aus, wie sie zueinander passen. Dabei erfahren sie einiges über die Beschaffenheit der Zutaten – beispielsweise, dass der Zuckerguss am Pinsel klebt und mit der Zeit an der Luft hart wird. Sie können auch beobachten, wie aus den einzelnen Materialien am Ende viele kleine Meisterstücke werden. Wenn die Kinder das nächste Mal fertige Guezli sehen, dann können sie sich gut vorstellen, wie diese entstanden sind. Um solche Zusammenhänge nachvollziehen zu können, müssen sie Kleinkinder selber erlebt haben. Neben der Materialkunde und dem Lernen von Abläufen üben sich die Kinder aber auch im sozialen Handeln und erweitern im Gespräch miteinander ihre sprachlichen Fähigkeiten. Vieles passiert hier auf einmal. Die buntverzierten Guezli sind zwar das Ziel der Kinder, aber der Weg dorthin ist bereichernd und macht mindestens so viel Spass wie das Ergebnis.

## Anregungsreiche Lernumgebung

Die Erzieherinnen haben den Kindern verschiedene Zutaten zum Verzieren der gemeinsam gebackenen Guezli bereitgestellt. Die Kinder finden vieles vor, was ihre Kreativität anregt und das Mittun spannend macht. Die Materialien geben den Kindern die Möglichkeit, neue Erfahrungen zu sammeln. Meret, Anna, Paolo und Nevin nutzen die Gelegenheit und widmen sich vertieft ihrer Aufgabe. Niemand gibt ihnen vor, wie die Guezli am Schluss auszusehen haben. Die Kinder können ihrer Fantasie freien Lauf lassen und mit den Dingen nach Lust und Laune experimentieren. Ohne Vorgaben ist es den Kindern möglich, Ideen zu entwickeln und Neues auszuprobieren.

Die Materialien und die Art, wie sie bereitgestellt sind, sind kindgerecht: ein kleiner Tisch, an dem die Kinder gut sitzen können. Ungefährliche Utensilien, mit denen die Kinder auch alleine, ohne die ständige Beaufsichtigung durch Erwachsene, hantieren können. Eine überschaubare Gruppe, in der ein gemeinsames Tun und ein Austausch zwischen den Kindern möglich sind. So wurde von den Erzieherinnen eine Ausgangslage geschaffen, in der die Kinder Anregungen für eine Beschäftigung erhalten, aber dennoch ihrer Eigeninitiative nachgehen können.

## Gemeinschaftliches Lernen

Jedes der vier Kinder verziert selbständig und für sich allein die Guezli. Doch diese Tätigkeit fordert von den Kindern auch viel Gemeinschaftsarbeit. Um an die gewünschten Zutaten zu kommen und die eigenen Ideen zu verwirklichen, müssen die vier Kinder miteinander verhandeln, sich absprechen und sich gegenseitig helfen. Anna gibt Meret neue Guezli und reicht ihr die Schale mit dem Zuckerguss. Paolo weist Meret darauf hin, dass sie fragen kann, wenn sie noch weitere Zutaten benötigt. Er bietet ihr dadurch indirekt seine Hilfe an. Gerne reicht Paolo die Schokoladenstreusel weiter. Er braucht sie ja nicht mehr, doch Nevin braucht sie noch. Dadurch entsteht ein kleiner Konflikt, den Paolo sofort löst, indem er Nevin eine Alternative aufzeigt: „Ja, man kann doch Smarties nehmen.“ So üben sich die Kinder im sozialen Umgang miteinander.

## Holistic learning

From day one, children try to grasp connections in the world around them. To do so they use all of their energy and all of their senses. That is exactly what Meret, Anna, Paolo and Nevin are doing here. They are touching, smelling, and looking at the different materials for decorating biscuits and experimenting with how they go together. They are learning a lot about the properties of the materials, such as that sugar icing sticks to the brush and hardens over time. They also observe how the individual materials result in many small masterpieces in the end. When the children see the finished biscuits the next time, they will be able to imagine how they were made. To be able to understand these connections, young children must have experienced them themselves. In addition to exploring the materials and learning the steps, the children are also practicing social interaction and expanding their language skills as they talk among themselves. There is so much going on here all at once. The children’s goal is colorful, decorated biscuits, but the journey itself is enriching and as much fun as the result.

## Stimulating learning environment

The childminders have provided various ingredients for decorating the biscuits that they baked together. The children find plenty of things that inspire their creativity and make it fun to join in. The materials give children the opportunity to gain new experience. Meret, Anna, Paolo and Nevin make use of the opportunity and become absorbed in the task. No one tells them what the biscuits have to look like when decorated. The children are allowed to give free rein to their imagination and experiment with the materials as they wish. Not having to follow specific instructions, the children are free to develop ideas and try out new things.

The materials and the way that they have been provided are developmentally appropriate: a small table at which the children sit comfortably; utensils that the children can use safely by themselves without constant adult supervision; a manageably sized group in which joint activity and exchange among the children are possible. Here the childminders have created a learning situation that gives the children inspiration for an activity and an opportunity to follow their own initiative.

## Learning together

All four children decorate biscuits on their own and for themselves. But the activity also demands a lot of teamwork on their part. To gain access to desired ingredients and to realize their ideas the children have to negotiate among themselves, confer and help each other. Anna hands Meret more biscuits and passes her the bowl of icing. Paolo tells Meret that she can ask him if she needs more decorations. In this way he offers her his help indirectly. Paolo is happy to pass over the bowl of chocolate sprinkles. He does not need any more sprinkles, but Nevin stills needs some. A little conflict has arisen, but Paolo resolves it immediately by showing Nevin an alternative: “Come on. We can use Smarties.“ This is how children practice their social skills.

## Un apprentissage global

Dès le premier jour, l’enfant essaie de saisir le monde qui l’entoure, à la fois physiquement et mentalement. Pour cela, il utilise toute son énergie et tous ses sens. C’est exactement ce que font ici Meret, Anna, Paolo et Nevin. Ils sentent avec leurs mains et leur odorat, observent les différentes matières pour décorer les biscuits, et font toutes sortes de combinaisons. Cela leur permet d’apprendre beaucoup de choses sur les propriétés des ingrédients – par exemple, ils constatent que le glaçage colle au pinceau et durcit quand il sèche. Ils observent également la naissance progressive de petits chefs d’œuvre à partir des différentes matières. La prochaine fois qu’ils verront des biscuits, ils pourront imaginer comment ils ont été préparés. Pour comprendre ce type de processus, les jeunes enfants ont besoin d’en avoir fait l’expérience eux-mêmes. Outre la leçon de choses et l’apprentissage des opérations, ils exercent aussi leurs aptitudes sociales et enrichissent leurs compétences linguistiques au cours de leurs échanges. Tout cela se déroule en même temps ici. Si préparer des biscuits décorés est l’objectif ici, le chemin qui y mène est enrichissant et au moins aussi amusant.

## Un environnement d’apprentissage plein de stimulations

Les éducatrices ont donné aux enfants différents ingrédients pour décorer les biscuits préparés ensemble. Les enfants trouvent de nombreuses choses qui stimulent leur créativité et rend cette activité collective passionnante. Les différentes matières leur donnent la possibilité de faire de nouvelles expériences. Meret, Anna, Paolo et Nevin profitent de l’occasion et se plongent dans leur tâche. Personne ne leur dit à quoi doivent ressembler les biscuits à la fin. Ils peuvent laisser libre cours à leur imagination et expérimenter comme bon leur semble. En l’absence de consignes, ils peuvent développer et essayer des idées nouvelles.

Les matières et leur mode de préparation sont adaptés aux enfants: ils sont assis à une petite table, juste à leur taille. Les accessoires à leur disposition ne sont pas dangereux, ils peuvent donc les utiliser tout seuls, sans avoir besoin de la surveillance permanente d’un adulte. Le groupe est de petite taille, il permet une activité commune et un échange entre enfants. Les éducatrices ont mis en place une situation où les enfants reçoivent des stimulations en lien avec une activité, tout en pouvant s’inspirer librement de leur propre initiative.

## Apprendre ensemble

Chacun des quatre enfants décore ses propres biscuits. Mais l’activité dans son ensemble réclame des enfants une bonne part de travail en commun. Pour accéder aux ingrédients désirés et pouvoir réaliser ses propres idées, ils doivent négocier, se mettre d’accord et s’aider mutuellement. Anna donne à Meret de nouveaux biscuits et lui donne le saladier contenant le glaçage. Paolo dit à Meret qu’elle peut demander si elle a besoin d’autres ingrédients. Il lui propose donc ainsi indirectement de l’aider. Paolo fait passer les paillettes de chocolat. Il n’en a plus besoin, mais Nevin en a encore besoin, lui. Un petit conflit éclate, que Paolo résout immédiatement en proposant une autre solution à Nevin: «Oui, on peut prendre des Smarties.» Les enfants exercent ainsi ensemble leurs compétences sociales.

## Apprendimento olistico

Dal primo giorno i bambini provano a “cogliere” il contesto del mondo che li circonda. Usano tutte le loro energie e tutti i sensi. E’ esattamente ciò che fanno Meret, Anna, Paolo e Nevin. Toccano, odorano e osservano i diversi materiali per decorare i biscotti e assieme sperimentano come possono utilizzarli. Essi imparano molto sulla qualità degli ingredienti - per esempio, che la glassa di zucchero appiccica e che con il tempo, all’aria, diventa dura. Possono anche vedere come, dai singoli materiali, alla fine, si ricavano molti piccoli capolavori. Quando, la prossima volta, i bambini vedranno dei biscotti finiti, potranno facilmente immaginare come sono stati fatti. Per poter comprendere tali rapporti, i bambini devono aver fatto loro stessi questa esperienza. Oltre ai tipi di materiali e ai processi di apprendimento, i bambini si esercitano anche nell'azione sociale e, conversando insieme, ampliano le loro competenze linguistiche. Qui succedono molte cose nello stesso tempo. I biscotti colorati sono l’obiettivo dei bambini, ma il percorso è arricchente, e, rispetto al risultato finale, è altrettanto divertente.

## Ambiente d’apprendimento stimolante

Le educatrici hanno messo a disposizione dei bambini vari ingredienti per decorare i biscotti che hanno cotto insieme. I bambini trovano molte cose per stimolare la loro creatività e per rendere emozionante il lavoro in comune. I materiali offrono ai bambini l'opportunità di acquisire nuove esperienze. Meret, Anna, Paolo e Nevin colgono l’occasione e si dedicano assorti al loro compito. Nessuno stabilisce come dovranno essere i biscotti alla fine. I bambini possono dar libero sfogo alla loro fantasia e sperimentare i vari elementi, a seconda dei loro desideri. Senza linee guida i bambini hanno la possibilità di sviluppare idee e provare cose nuove.

I materiali, e il modo in cui sono resi disponibili, sono adatti ai bambini: un piccolo tavolo dove possono sedersi bene. Utensili non pericolosi che i bambini possono manipolare, anche senza la supervisione costante di un adulto. Un gruppo gestibile, dove un’attività comune e uno scambio tra i bambini sono possibili. Le educatrici hanno creato una situazione nella quale i bambini ricevono suggerimenti per il lavoro che svolgono, ma dove possono anche agire di propria iniziativa.

## Apprendimento collaborativo

Ciascuno dei quattro bambini decora i biscotti in modo indipendente e di propria iniziativa. Tuttavia, questa attività, richiede un sacco di lavoro in comune. Per ottenere gli ingredienti desiderati e realizzare le proprie idee, i quattro bambini devono negoziare tra di loro, accordarsi e aiutarsi a vicenda. Anna dà a Meret dei nuovi biscotti porgendo la ciotola con la glassa. Paolo fa notare a Meret che, se ha bisogno di un altro ingrediente, può chiederglielo. In questo modo le offre il suo aiuto indiretto. Paolo passa volentieri la granella di cioccolato. Non gli serve più, ma a Kevin serve ancora. Questo crea un piccolo conflitto che Paolo risolve immediatamente, mostrando a Nevin un’alternativa: "Sì, si può prendere le Smarties”. E’ in questo modo che i bambini praticano le interazioni sociali.
