## Sprachliche Begleitung

Im Alltag gibt es unzählige Gelegenheiten, mit Kindern über verschiedenste Themen ins Gespräch zu kommen. Eine kleine Schnecke beispielsweise kann viel zu reden geben. Im Austausch mit Selina kommentiert die Tagesmutter mit für das Mädchen nachvollziehbaren Worten das Verhalten der Schnecke und äussert ihre Gedanken dazu. Dabei dient sie Selina als sprachliches Vorbild, aber auch als Modell, indem sie sich traut, die Schnecke zu berühren. Indem Erwachsene in Worte fassen, was sie wahrnehmen, beobachten und denken, helfen sie dem Kind nicht nur, dies ebenfalls wahrzunehmen und zu erkennen, sondern unterstützen es auch beim Spracherwerb. Mit ihren Fragen regt die Tagesmutter Selina zudem zum Nachdenken an und ermuntert sie dazu, sich ebenfalls zu äussern. Mit ihrer Körperhaltung und ihren Fragen signalisiert sie ehrliches Interesse an Selinas Meinung. Dadurch erfährt Selina viel Wertschätzung und Achtung.

## Gemeinschaftliches Lernen

Bereits seit einiger Zeit interessiert sich Selina für Schnecken und nutzt jede Gelegenheit, sich diese aus der Nähe anzuschauen. Für die Tagesmutter mögen Schnecken nichts Aussergewöhnliches sein. Doch besitzt sie die Fähigkeit, die ganze Situation aus der Perspektive von Selina zu betrachten. Sie weiss, wie sehr das Mädchen von Schnecken fasziniert ist und dass sie gerne mehr darüber erfahren möchte. Sich in die Sichtweise des Kindes hineinzuversetzen, ist eine zentrale Fähigkeit, welche es Erwachsenen ermöglicht, die Kinder bei ihren aktuellen Interessen und Fragen abzuholen. So können sie Kinder optimal auf ihrem Bildungsweg begleiten. Als die Tagesmutter eine Häuschenschnecke findet, nimmt sie dies deshalb zum Anlass, sich mit Selina darüber auszutauschen. Mit Fragen und spannenden Aussagen gelingt es ihr, die Aufmerksamkeit des Mädchens zu fesseln. Das gemeinsame Gespräch regt die Neugier und das Staunen von Selina zusätzlich an und ermuntert sie dazu, sich auf die Schnecke zu konzentrieren und etwas auszuprobieren. So wendet sie sich immer wieder dem Tier zu, auch wenn es auf dem Spielplatz noch viel anderes zu entdecken gäbe. Sie wagt es schliesslich sogar, das Schneckenhäuschen zu berühren, und erfährt, was sie bei der Schnecke damit bewirkt.

Das gemeinsame Erlebnis bereitet Freude und stärkt die Beziehung zwischen der Tagesmutter und Selina. Eine vertrauensvolle Beziehung ist grundlegend, um sich wohl zu fühlen und sich vertieft auf etwas einzulassen. Zudem werden Kinder besonders dann dazu angeregt, etwas Neues zu lernen, wenn sie etwas Interessantes mit und bei Personen beobachten können, die ihnen wichtig sind. Selina sieht, wie die Tagesmutter ganz selbstverständlich die Schnecke auf der Hand hält, ihr ein kleines Blatt anbietet und sie dann sanft auf den Boden zurücklegt. Auch von diesen Beobachtungen kann Selina profitieren. Ziemlich sicher ahmt Selina sie bei einer nächsten Gelegenheit nach.

## Ganzheitliches Lernen

In den ersten Lebensjahren lernen Kinder nicht isoliert über ihren Intellekt, sondern gleichzeitig mit ihrem Körper, ihren Emotionen und ihren Sinnen sowie im Austausch mit vertrauten Personen. Basis dafür sind Bindungsbeziehungen und Sicherheit aufgrund von Erleben von Fürsorge. Frühkindliche Bildung heisst: selbst tätig sein, erkunden, fragen, beobachten und kommunizieren. Zudem lernen Kinder in einer Situation viel Verschiedenes. In der kurzen Zeit, in welcher die Tagesmutter und Selina gemeinsam ihre Aufmerksamkeit auf die Schnecke richten, erfährt Selina, dass die Schnecke auch dann noch da ist, wenn sie sich im Häuschen verkrochen hat. Und, dass sie wieder hervorkommt, wenn sie sich wohl fühlt. Zudem merkt sie, dass die Schnecke erschrickt, wenn sie diese berührt. Mit allen Sinnen nimmt sie die Situation auf. Sie sieht, wie die Schnecke kriecht, ihre Fühler bewegt und sich ins Häuschen zurückzieht, wenn es ihr zu viel wird. Sie hört, was die Tagesmutter dazu erläutert. Und sie spürt mit dem Finger, wie sich das Schneckenhäuschen anfühlt. Trifft sie das nächste Mal auf eine Schnecke, kann sie an dieses neu erworbene Wissen anknüpfen. Vielleicht wagt sie es dann sogar, die Schnecke auf die Hand zu nehmen, und erfährt so, wie es sich anfühlt, wenn ihr diese über die Haut kriecht.

## Language support

There are endless opportunities in daily life to talk with children about all kinds of subjects. A small snail can spark a lot of conversation. In her exchange with Selina, the childminder offers a commentary on the snail’s behavior using words that Selina understands and shares her thoughts about it. Here she serves as an example for Selina in terms of speech but also as a role model who gives Selina the courage to touch the snail. When adults put what they perceive, observe and think into words, they not only help children to perceive and recognize things; they but also promote their speech and language development. By asking questions, the childminder stimulates Selina’s thinking and encourages her to express herself. Through her body posture and her questions she signals her genuine interest in Selina’s opinions. Selina feels valued and respected.

## Learning together

Selina has shown interest in snails for some time now and uses every opportunity to take a close look at them. Snails may be nothing unusual to the childminder, but she has the ability to look at the whole situation from Selina’s perspective. She knows how fascinated Selina is by snails and that she would like to learn more about them. Being able to empathize with the child’s way of looking at things is a key ability that allows adults to pick up on children’s current interests and questions, providing optimum support to children as they learn. When the childminder finds a snail with a shell, she uses it as an opportunity to talk with Selina about it. With questions and interesting comments she captures Selina’s attention. Their conversation stimulates Selina’s curiosity and increases her amazement. It encourages her focus on the snail and to try something out. She turns her attention to the snail again and again, even though there are a lot of other things on the playground that she could explore. And finally, she even dares to touch the snail’s shell and finds out what effect this has on the snail.

This shared experience gives them pleasure and strengthens the relationship between the childminder and Selina. A relationship based on trust is essential to feel at ease and be able to engage deeply with the task at hand. In addition, children are particularly stimulated to learn new things if they can see interesting things with and in persons that are important to them. Selina sees how her childminder holds the snail very naturally on the palm of her hand, offers it a little leaf and places it gently on the ground. Selina benefits also from these observations. She is quite likely to imitate them at the next opportunity.

## Holistic learning

In the first years of life, children do not learn solely through their intellect but with their body, emotions, senses and through interaction with familiar others at the same time. This is founded on attachment relationships and security, based on the experience of care. Early childhood learning means: being active, exploring, asking, observing and communicating. And in each situation children learn a lot of different things. In the short time in which Selina and her childminder turn their attention to the snail together, Selina learns that the snail is still there when it has gone into its shell. And that it comes back out when it feels safe. She also notices that the snail is frightened when she touches it. She experiences the situation with all of her senses. She sees the snail move, wave its tentacles and withdraw into its shell when things get too much. She hears what the childminder says about it. And she feels with her finger what a snail shell feels like. The next time that she sees a snail, she will build on this new knowledge. Perhaps she will even place the snail on the palm of her hand and experience what it feels like to have a snail crawl on her skin.

## L’accompagnement par la parole

Il y a d’innombrables possibilités au quotidien d’avoir des échanges sur les thèmes les plus différents avec des enfants. Un petit escargot, par exemple, peut alimenter la discussion. La mère de jour commente, à l’intention de Selina et avec des mots compréhensibles par celle-ci, le comportement d’un escargot. Elle constitue pour Selina un modèle sur le plan de la langue, mais également sur celui du comportement, car elle ose toucher l’escargot. En exprimant par des mots les choses qu’ils perçoivent, observent et pensent, les adultes aident les enfants à percevoir et identifier ces choses, mais ils favorisent également chez eux l’acquisition du langage. Les questions de la mère de jour incitent Selina à réfléchir et l’encouragent à s’exprimer elle aussi. L’attitude et les questions de la mère de jour indiquent à Selina que son avis est important pour elle. Selina en retire un sentiment d’estime et de respect.

## Apprendre ensemble

Selina s’intéresse depuis quelque temps aux escargots et utilise chaque occasion pour les observer de plus près. Pour la mère de jour, les escargots n’ont rien d’extraordinaire. Mais elle sait observer la situation du point de vue de Selina. Elle sait que la petite fille est fascinée par les escargots et qu’elle aimerait en apprendre plus à leur sujet. Parvenir à adopter le point de vue des enfants est une aptitude centrale qui permet aux adultes de les toucher précisément dans ce qui les intéresse et les intrigue. Ils peuvent ainsi les accompagner de manière optimale sur le chemin de leur formation. Lorsque la mère de jour voit un escargot, elle saisit l’occasion pour engager avec Selina un échange à ce sujet. Des questions et des informations passionnantes lui permettent de capter l’attention de la petite fille. Le dialogue attise encore la curiosité et l’étonnement de Selina et l’encourage à se concentrer sur l’escargot et à s’en approcher. Elle reste tournée vers le gastéropode, même s’il y a beaucoup d’autres choses à découvrir sur l’aire de jeux. Elle finit même par oser toucher la coquille, et peut voir la réaction de l’escargot.

Vivre cela ensemble génère de la joie et renforce la relation entre la mère de jour et Selina. La présence d’une personne de confiance est fondamentale pour se sentir bien et s’absorber dans une activité. Les enfants sont de plus spécialement incités à apprendre des choses nouvelles lorsqu’ils peuvent observer quelque chose d’intéressant avec ou chez des personnes qui sont importantes pour eux. Selina voit que la mère de jour prend l’escargot dans sa main sans hésiter, comme la chose la plus naturelle, lui tend une petite feuille puis le repose doucement par terre. Selina peut également tirer profit de ces observations. Il est presque sûr qu’elle s’en inspirera à la prochaine occasion.

## Un apprentissage global

Dans les premières années, les enfants n’apprennent pas de manière isolée par l’intermédiaire de leur intellect, mais tout à la fois par leur corps, leurs émotions et leurs sens, ainsi que dans l’échange avec des personnes qui leur sont familières. Pour cela, ils ont besoin de relations qui créent du lien et de sécurité avec des personnes qui fassent preuve de sollicitude à leur égard. La formation dans la petite enfance signifie prendre des initiatives, explorer, poser des questions, observer et communiquer. Les enfants apprennent de plus de nombreuses choses différentes à partir d’une même situation. Dans les quelques instants où la mère de jour et Selina portent ensemble leur attention sur l’escargot, Selina apprend que l’escargot est encore là, même quand on ne le voit plus et qu’il est rentré dans sa coquille. Et qu’il ressort quand il est rassuré. Elle remarque par ailleurs que l’escargot a peur quand elle le touche. Elle perçoit la situation à travers tous ses sens. Elle voit comment l’escargot rampe, bouge ses antennes et rentre dans sa coquille quand il en a assez. Elle écoute les explications de la mère de jour. Et elle touche avec son doigt la coquille, pour ressentir l’impression que cela fait. La prochaine fois qu’elle verra un escargot, elle pourra s’appuyer sur les connaissances qu’elle vient d’acquérir. Peut-être même osera-t-elle prendre l’escargot dans sa main, pour le sentir ramper sur sa peau?

## Accompagnamento linguistico

Nella vita di tutti i giorni si presentano infinite occasioni per affrontare con i bambini le più disparate tematiche. Una piccola lumaca può essere oggetto di infinite discussioni. Nello scambio tra Selina e la mamma diurna, quest’ultima commenta il comportamento della lumaca, ed esprime alcune sue idee, usando parole di facile comprensione. Selina prende la mamma diurna quale esempio linguistico, ma anche quale modello per trovare il coraggio di toccare la lumaca. Gli adulti contribuiscono in modo significativo allo sviluppo linguistico, e anche percettivo, del bambino nel momento in cui verbalizzano la percezione, l’osservazione e le varie riflessioni. Attraverso le sue domande, la mamma diurna, stimola in Selina la riflessione e la mette in condizione di esprimersi a sua volta. Con il suo modo di porsi, anche dal punto di vista corporeo, e con le sue domande, la mamma diurna fa capire a Selina che ha un interesse autentico verso la sua opinione. E’ attraverso tale modo di essere che Selina avverte di essere apprezzata e rispettata.

## Apprendimento collettivo

Da qualche tempo Selina mostra interesse per le lumache, e non perde occasione per cercare di osservarle da vicino. Per la mamma diurna le lumache non sono qualche cosa di straordinario. Cionostante riesce a considerare la situazione dal punto di vista di Selina. La mamma diurna sa quanto le lumache affascinano la bambina, e quanto lei desideri saperne di più. Guardare la cose dal punto di vista del bambino è una competenza centrale che dà modo all’adulto di prendere in considerazione gli interessi del momento e le domande del bambino. E’ in questo modo che gli adulti riescono ad accompagnare il bambino nel suo percorso formativo. E’ per tale ragione che, nel momento in cui la mamma diurna trova la lumaca, ne approfitta per dare avvio a un dialogo con Selina. Attraverso domande e stimolanti affermazioni riesce a catturare l’attenzione della bambina. La conversazione suscita in Selina ulteriore curiosità e stupore e la spingono a concentrasi sulla lumaca e a sperimentare alcune cose. E’ per questo motivo che, ripetutamente, volge lo sguardo alla lumaca, anche se nel parco giochi ci sarebbe molto altro da scoprire. Osa persino toccare il guscio della lumaca e constata qual è l’effetto provocato dal suo gesto.

L’esperienza in comune suscita piacere e rafforza il rapporto tra la mamma diurna e Selina. Il rapporto di fiducia è fondamentale quando si tratta di sentirsi a proprio agio e immergersi, in modo profondo, in qualche cosa. I bambini si sentono stimolati ad apprendere qualche cosa di nuovo, facendo delle osservazioni insieme a persone che, per loro, sono importanti. Selina vede come la mamma diurna, in modo del tutto spontaneo, tiene in mano la lumaca porgendole una piccola foglia per poi, con delicatezza, riporla sul terreno. Selina può approfittare di queste osservazioni. E’ molto probabile che, in una prossima occasione, Selina faccia la stessa cosa.

## Apprendimento olistico

Nei primi anni di vita i bambini non imparano in modo isolato con il loro intelletto, bensì contemporaneamente con il loro corpo, con le loro emozioni, con i loro sensi e attraverso il contatto con le persone di fiducia. Alla base di tutto ciò contano i legami e il sentimento di sicurezza che hanno preso forma tramite le modalità di accoglienza e le esperienze vissute. La formazione della prima infanzia significa: essere attivo per conto proprio, esplorare, chiedere, osservare e comunicare. Oltre a ciò, i bambini imparano molte cose in una sola situazione. In poco tempo, mentre la mamma diurna orienta l’attenzione della bambina verso la lumaca, Selina impara a capire che la lumaca c’è ancora anche quando non la si vede più, perché si trova nella sua casina. Impara anche a capire che esce dal guscio quando si sente a suo agio. Capisce che la lumaca si spaventa quando si tocca il guscio. Interpreta la situazione con tutti i sensi. Constata come la lumaca striscia, come muove le sue antenne, e come si ritira nella sua casetta quando la situazione è troppo complessa. La bambina ascolta la mamma diurna quando quest’ultima spiega. Avverte che sensazione dà toccare la casetta della lumaca con un dito. Quando, la prossima volta, incontrerà una lumaca, saprà attingere al sapere acquisito. E’ possibile che, in quella circostanza, abbia il coraggio di prendere in mano la lumaca facendo così l’esperienza di cosa si prova quando quest’ultima striscia sulla mano.
