## Gemeinschaftliches Lernen

Simon, Selina und Jill sind ein eingespieltes Team. Bei der Tagesmutter verbringen sie viel Zeit zusammen. Aus ihrem vertrauten Umgang miteinander lässt sich schliessen, dass sich die drei schon länger kennen und mögen. Durch die Anwesenheit der Tagesmutter fühlen sie sich zudem ausreichend sicher und unterstützt, um sich aufeinander einzulassen und soziales Verhalten zu erproben. Dabei erfahren sie viel Wichtiges über sich und andere. Simon beispielsweise traut sich nicht, die Schnecke zu berühren. Mutig überwindet er jedoch seine Angst und erfährt dadurch, wie sich eine Nacktschnecke anfühlt: klebrig nämlich. Dies teilt er auch Selina und Jill mit, welche die Schnecke lieber nicht anfassen möchten. So lernen die drei, sich ihrer unterschiedlichen Gefühle bewusst zu werden, diese zu äussern und jene der andern zu respektieren.

Die Kontakte zu anderen Kindern sind tendenziell ausgeglichener als zwischen Kindern und Erwachsenen. Dies bietet für die individuelle und für die soziale Entwicklung einzigartige Herausforderungen und bereichernde Erfahrungen. So verfügen Simon, Selina und Jill über ein ähnliches Vorwissen über Schnecken. Neue Erkenntnisse werden auf dieser Grundlage ausgetauscht (die Schnecke ist klebrig). Auch die Diskussion darüber, wer es wagt, die Schnecke zu berühren, wäre mit einer erwachsenen Person wohl anders verlaufen.

Jede Schnecke am Wegrand weckt die Aufmerksamkeit der drei Kinder und alle beteiligen sich an der Suche nach weiteren Kriechtieren. Ist eines der Kinder fündig geworden, teilt es dies den andern freudig mit. Das gibt ein Gefühl von Zugehörigkeit und ermöglicht Partizipation. Beides sind wichtige Voraussetzungen, um zu lernen, andere Blickwinkel einzunehmen und Verantwortungsgefühl zu entwickeln.

## Forschen und Entdecken

Schon oft haben die drei Kinder erlebt, dass bei Sonnenschein kaum Schnecken zu sehen sind, es bei Regenwetter hingegen von diesen Tieren wimmelt. Auch sind sie schon unterschiedlichen Schneckenarten begegnet: Nacktschnecken sowie Gehäuseschnecken, dabei z.B. auch den grossen Weinbergschnecken. Diese kriechenden Tierchen haben ihr Interesse geweckt. Auf jedem Spaziergang erfahren sie mehr darüber: Jill hat festgestellt, dass Simon eine besonders lange Schnecke gefunden hat. Und Simon hat gemerkt, dass sich diese klebrig anfühlt. Bildungsprozesse junger Kinder sind immer an konkrete, alltägliche Situationen gebunden. Sie sind eingebettet in Alltagserfahrungen und in die unmittelbare Lebenswelt des Kindes. Die Tagesmutter kann die inneren Lernprozesse der Kinder nicht direkt beeinflussen. Kinder lernen nicht, weil sie lernen müssen, sondern aus Neugier und Interesse. Die Erwachsenen können sie aber dabei sehr wohl unterstützen und begleiten. Zum Beispiel, indem sie die Interessen und Aktivitäten der Kinder genau beobachten und ihnen eine anregungsreiche Lernumgebung zum selbständigen Erkunden zur Verfügung stellen. So ermöglicht es die Tagesmutter Simon, Selina und Jill, auch bei Regenwetter draussen zu sein, und sie lässt ihnen genügend Zeit, auf dem Weg stehen zu bleiben und die Umgebung zu erforschen. Nur so können die Kinder überhaupt ein Interesse – wie hier zum Beispiel an Schnecken – entwickeln und ihr Wissen darüber vertiefen.

## Learning together

Simon, Selina and Jil are an experienced team. They spend a lot of time together with the childminder. Their familiar interaction with one another suggests that they have known each other for some time and that they like each other. And with the presence of their childminder they feel sufficiently secure and supported to respond to one another and try out social behavior. In doing so, they learn a lot about themselves and others. Simon, for instance, does not dare to touch the slug. But he courageously overcomes his fear and is able to find out how a slug feels—namely, slimy. He shares this with Selina and Jil, who would rather not touch the slug. In this way the three children learn to be aware of their different feelings, express them and respect the feelings of others.

Relations between children tend to be more equalizedthan relations between children and adults. This offers unique challenges and enriching experiences for personal and social development. Simon, Selina and Jil have similar previous knowledge about slugs, and this is the starting point for exchanging newly acquired information about slugs (slugs are slimy). And their discussion on who is brave enough to touch the slug would have been somewhat different with an adult.

Each slug at the edge of the path catches the children’s attention, and all three children join in the search for more crawling animals. Whenever they find one, they happily inform the others. This gives them a sense of belonging and allows participation. Belonging and participation are important prerequisites to learning to see things from another’s perspective and for developing a sense of responsibility.

## Research and discovery

The three children have often noticed that there are no slugs to be seen when the sun is shining but that there are a great many to be found when it is raining. They have also seen different kinds of slugs and snails, including large Roman snails. These crawling animals have sparked their interest. On each of their walks they learn more about them: Jil notices that Simon has found an especially large snail, and Simon notes that it is slimy. Young children’s learning processes are always linked with concrete, everyday situations. They are embedded in everyday experiences and the immediate world around them. The childminder cannot influence the children’s inner learning processes directly. Children do not learn because they must but because they are curious and interested. But adults can support and encourage them in this. They can observe children’s interests and activities carefully and provide them with a stimulating learning environment to explore independently. The childminder makes it possible for Simon, Selina and Jil to be outdoors in rainy weather, and she gives them ample time to stop along the way and explore their surroundings. This is the only way children can develop an interest—such as these children‘s interest in snails—and increase their knowledge about it.

## Apprendre ensemble

Simon, Selina et Jil forme un petit groupe bien uni. Ils passent beaucoup de temps ensemble auprès de la mère de jour. On peut déduire de leurs relations mutuelles que ces trois enfants se connaissent depuis longtemps et s’apprécient. La présence de la mère de jour leur donne par ailleurs un sentiment de sécurité et un point d’ancrage pour se faire aider, si bien qu’ils peuvent s’adonner ensemble à leurs occupations et s’essayer à des comportements sociaux. C’est l’occasion d’apprendre beaucoup de choses importantes sur soi-même et sur les autres. Simon, par exemple, n’ose pas toucher l’escargot. Mais il surmonte courageusement sa réticence, pose son doigt sur le petit animal et éprouve ainsi une sensation collante. Il en informe Selina et Jil, qui préfèrent ne pas toucher l’escargot. Les trois enfants apprennent ainsi à prendre conscience de leurs sensations, à les exprimer et à respecter celles des autres.

Les contacts entre enfants ont tendance à être plus équilibrés que les relations entre enfants et adultes. Cela offre à leur développement tant individuel que social des défis singuliers et des expériences enrichissantes. Simon, Selina et Jil possèdent les mêmes connaissances préalables sur les escargots. Cela leur permet d’avoir des échanges sur ce qu’ils découvrent aujourd’hui (l’escargot est collant). Même la question de savoir qui osera toucher l’escargot aurait été abordée différemment avec un adulte.

Chaque escargot aperçu sur le bord du chemin attire l’attention des trois enfants et tous participent activement à la recherche. Dès que l’un d’eux en a trouvé un, il en informe avec enthousiasme les autres. Tout cela donne un sentiment d’appartenance et permet aux enfants de participer pleinement aux choses. Ces deux éléments sont essentiels pour apprendre à adopter un autre point de vue et développer un sentiment de responsabilité.

## Rechercher et découvrir

Les trois enfants ont souvent constaté qu’il n’y a presque jamais d’escargot quand il fait beau, alors qu’on en voit beaucoup par temps de pluie. Ils ont également déjà vu plusieurs espèces de gastéropodes : limaces, escargots, et notamment les gros escargots de Bourgogne. Ces petits animaux rampants ont éveillé leur intérêt. Et à chaque promenade, ils en apprennent davantage : Jil a vu que Simon a trouvé un animal spécialement long. Et Simon a remarqué qu’il est collant. Les processus de formation des jeunes enfants sont toujours associés à des situations concrètes, de la vie quotidienne. Ils sont insérés dans les expériences quotidiennes et dans l’environnement immédiat de l’enfant. La mère de jour ne peut pas influencer directement les processus d’apprentissage qui se jouent en eux. Ceux-ci n’apprennent pas parce qu’ils le doivent, mais par curiosité et parce que les choses suscitent de l’intérêt chez eux. Mais les adultes peuvent tout à fait les soutenir et les accompagner dans ces processus. Par exemple en observant précisément les centres d’intérêt et les activités des enfants et en mettant à leur disposition un environnement d’apprentissage plein de stimulations et invitant à l’exploration autonome. La mère de jour autorise ainsi Simon, Selina et Jil à sortir même par temps de pluie, et elle les laisse libre de s’arrêter en chemin comme ils l’entendent pour explorer les environs. Ce n’est qu’ainsi que les enfants peuvent développer leur intérêt pour les choses – ici, les escargots – et approfondir leurs connaissances sur ces choses.

## Apprendimento collettivo

Simon, Selina e Jil sono un team collaudato. Trascorrono molta parte del loro tempo presso la mamma diurna. Dal modo con cui comunicano tra loro si deduce che i tre si conoscono e si accettano da tempo. La presenza rassicurante e incoraggiante della mamma diurna favorisce il contatto tra loro e facilita la realizzazione di esperienze sociali. Ciò facendo imparano molte cose importanti su se stessi e sugli altri. Ad esempio, Simon non osa toccare la lumaca. Con coraggio supera la sua paura e, di conseguenza, sperimenta com’è toccare un lumacone: vale a dire appiccicoso. Comunica tutto ciò a Selina e a Jil, i quali, a loro volta, preferiscono non toccare la lumaca. E’ cosi che i tre prendono coscienza dei loro diversi sentimenti, imparano ad esprimerli, e a rispettare quelli degli altri.

In generale, il contatto con altri bambini è più equilibrato rispetto al rapporto tra bambino e adulto. Per lo sviluppo individuale e sociale tutto ciò si traduce in esperienze arricchenti e in prove uniche nel loro genere. E’ cosi che Simon, Selina e Jil dispongono di un sapere precostituito in fatto di lumache. Su tale fondamento trova spazio lo scambio di nuove scoperte (la lumaca è appiccicosa). Anche la discussione sul chi, cosa toccare della lumaca, si sarebbe svolta diversamente, qualora vi fosse stata la presenza di un adulto.

Ogni lumaca sul bordo del sentiero sollecita l’attenzione dei tre bambini, e tutti si impegnano a cercare altri animaletti striscianti. Nel momento in cui un bambino ha l’occasione di scoprirne uno, lo comunica con piacere agli altri. Tutto ciò favorisce il sentimento di appartenenza e favorisce la partecipazione. Ambedue i sentimenti sono premesse importanti per apprendere, per concepire l’esistenza di altri punti di vista, e per sviluppare il sentimento di responsabilità.

## Ricercare e scoprire

I tre bambini hanno avuto l’occasione, a più riprese, di constatare che quando splende il sole è difficile vedere lumache e che, quando piove, compaiono molti di questi animaletti. Hanno anche avuto modo di incontrare diversi tipi di lumache: lumaconi, lumache con la casina, in questo caso la grossa lumaca del Weinberg. Questi animaletti striscianti hanno risvegliato il loro interesse. Nel corso di ogni passeggiata scoprono cose nuove: Jil ha constatato che Simon ha trovato una lumaca particolarmente lunga. E Simon si è accorto che quest’ultima al tatto è appiccicosa. I processi di apprendimento nei bambini piccoli sono sempre in relazione a situazioni concrete della quotidianità, in un contesto prossimale alla vita del bambino. La mamma diurna non può influire in modo diretto sui processi di apprendimento interiori. I bambini non imparano perché devono, imparano per interesse e per curiosità. Tuttavia, gli adulti, possono incoraggiare e accompagnare tali processi. Ciò avviene, ad esempio, attraverso l’osservazione attenta delle attività e degli interessi del bambino. E’ così che, gli adulti, possono strutturare un ambiente di apprendimento che consente al bambino di esplorarlo in modo autonomo. E’ anche per tale ragione che la mamma diurna permette a Simon, Selina e a Jil di rimanere all’esterno, anche quando piove, e concede loro il tempo sufficiente per rimanere sul viottolo per esplorare l’ambiente circostante. Solo così i bambini possono sviluppare un interesse – come ad esempio nel caso delle lumache – ed approfondire le loro conoscenze.
